AMICK Consultants Limited will be at the #JobsCanadaFair# at the Holiday Inn Hotel, 20 Fairview Road, Barrie, ON L4N 4P8 from 1pm to 3pm on June 27 2019.
- Responsible for assisting in the completion of archaeological field work, stages 2 through 4
- Please note that this job requires a lot of physical activity and a significant amount of travel
- Successful applicants must be able to provide their own transportation to and from carpool locations within the Barrie Area. We do provide transportation for employees when working outside Simcoe County.

Field Director |
- Able to walk minimum 10 hectares per day for the purpose of completing pedestrian survey assessments, able to test pit 1 hectare per day minimum, able to dig four 1 metre squares per day
- Ability to identify and document artifacts found during assessment an excavations
- Must have experience with hand-held GPS devices, theodolite, digital camera and GIS
- Through knowledge and understanding of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture's 2011 Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists
- Manage field crew, ensure field crew complies with corporate policies and procedures of AMICK Consultants Limited
- Coordinating the completion of fieldwork with office staff and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Must have a valid license to conduct archaeological fieldwork in Ontario
- Minimum 2 years of field experience in Ontario archaeology
- Valid Ontario Driver's License
- Must be self-sufficient and have good English oral and written communication skills
- Must be available to work extended days and the odd weekend
- Ability to manage a crew of 2-10 people
- Ability to prepare technical reports for the MTCS
- Detail oriented, strong communication, organization, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to catalogue artifacts (Aboriginal and Euro-Canadian)
- Ability to participate in Aboriginal Engagement as outlined in the Ministry of Tourism, Culture's 2011 Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists
- Ability to train new staff the proper field techniques and artifact identification
- Manage the proper maintenance of company equipment, and address any repairs/issues in a timely manner
- Ability to accurately document the completion of fieldwork through legible note taking, quality photos, digital mapping
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and be able to travel away from home some times for extended periods of time
